Transatlantic folk from famous double act

This December treat yourself to a fantastic festive fiddle and folk concert from the astonishing Dan Cassidy and James Hickman, winners of the BBC Radio 2 Young Folk Award.

James Hickman and Dan Cassidy (brother of the late Eva Cassidy) are a newly formed transatlantic folk and roots duo, bringing together modern folk trends with traditional folk music from the US to the UK. This Christmas season they will be entertaining Somerset audiences courtesy of Take Art rural touring.

Take Art Live Director Sarah Peterkin said, “A wonderful evening with two accomplished musicians, a treat of new and old folk music interspersed with lots of amusing anecdotes from this friendly duo.”

Virtuosic fiddler Dan Cassidy grew up in Maryland, USA but is now based in Iceland where he also regularly tours with his own Swing Quartet. James Hickman is a wonderfully unique vocalist and guitar player brought up in Shropshire on a diet of folk and bluegrass. James also tours nationally and internationally with Uiscedwr.

Hickman & Cassidy will be performing in four Somerset village halls from Thursday 2 December through to Sunday 5 December, including Edington Village Hall (2 Dec), North Cadbury (3 Dec), Leigh on Mendip (4 Dec) and Clapton & Wayford (5 Dec).
