In 2003/2004 over 200 participants from the Glastonbury area explored the creative potential of digital photography, video and new technology.
During the course of the year participants of all ages created a range of artwork, exploring many different themes. Children as young as three years old created wonderful illustrations of their school using computers and digital cameras, whilst members of the University of the Third Age (U3A) created photo montages designed to challenge the stereotypes associated with older people.
Some artwork explored deeply personal issues, for example, mothers from Sure Start created thought provoking images that explored childhood memories. Some of the groups created time-based artwork, for example, pupils from Saint Benedict’s school made a fantastic animation that explored their hopes and ambitions for their future. Some artwork, such as the skate boarding images by the Youth Service Group found a permanent exhibition space in the town.
