Theatre

We are famous for our cows, cheese, cider and the largest open-air music festival in Europe. In Somerset we love big ideas and are working towards a county where artists, practitioners and companies are inspired to make, produce and present extraordinary theatre.

Take Art Theatre offers support, resources and opportunities to Somerset-based artists, practitioners and companies; young people and youth theatre companies; venues and programmers.

This may include

  • Opportunities for professional development through workshops, masterclasses and skillshares;
  • Opportunities for showcasing, sharing work and rigorous debate about contemporary practice;
  • Offering support for the making, producing, programming and promoting of work;
  • Advice, signposting, networking and brokering partnerships;
  • Orginating ideas and developing new ways of working;
  • Extending regional, national and international links to bring high-quality work into Somerset;

If you make, produce or present work predominantly for the people of Somerset and your practice would benefit from our support, then we’d be happy to hear from you.

Take Art Theatre also runs a number of projects, such as the Made in Somerset events, Spoken Word residencies and a number of youth theatre projects.  These are all detailed on our projects pages.
