Over the summer Great Mead is hosting a vibrant mix of free, outdoor events and activities designed for people of ages and backgrounds.
From arts workshops and nature activities to wellbeing sessions and fun events, there’s something for everyone. It’s all about connecting with the land, with each other, and making a safe place where everyone can feel at home.
Creative Outdoor Summer Project
Rediscover the joy of play, nature and meeting new people.
Explore the green spaces of Great Mead through uplifting games, gentle storytelling, singing and voice work to create something special to share at a friendly, mini-festival on 20 September.

Botanical Sun Printing Workshops
Create beautiful prints using plants gathered in Great Mead and exposed by the sun.
Join a relaxing, hands-on workshop to discover the art of cyanotype printing. Make beautiful blue prints, try unique materials like lace or paper, and even add drawings or words.
10am to 1pm, Thursday 31 July and Saturday 16 August

Willow Weaving Workshops
Learn how to weave bird feeders, wind spirals and other objects from locally sourced willow.
You may book as many workshops as you wish. This means, for example, that you can start making something in one session and continue in the next and/or making something different.

Act to Adapt Workshops
Join Somerset Wildlife Trust and local people to discuss how Chard can adapt to local climate impacts. Free cake and refreshments!
