Music with 4-5 year olds: Creating an enabling environment

Join reception class teachers and EY music practitioners from Torbay, Poole and Bournemouth who will share with us how they worked in collaboration to nurture children’s and adult’s musicality during a 10-session project.

7.30 pm – 9.00 pm Thursday 13 June 2024 via Zoom

Presentations will include

  • reflections on improvements in music practice among both the reception class teachers and the EY music practitioners
  • reflections on how the project intervention showed positive changes to young children’s musical participation by creating up an enabling environment

Take Art leads this SoundWaves Network SW four-year (2021-25) early childhood music education programme. The project is funded by Youth Music and run in partnership with early years settings/schools, music education hubs, music organisations, county education teams and universities across the South West.

This event will be recorded. All those who book will receive a copy of the recording and handout available for a limited time after the event.

Option 1 - I am attending the zoom event on Thurs 13 June 7.30 pm – 9.00 pm and would like the recording & handout

Option 2 - I cannot attend the zoom event but would like to watch the recording & receive the handout
