Somerset Celebrations

An inspiring illustrated talk by Tim Hill

After a year of isolation, restriction and loss we need ways of reconnecting with each other and where we live.

Somerset Celebrations looks at Somerset’s rich history of celebrations, seeking inspiration for how we might gather again, exploring our love of these rituals and revelling in our wonderful traditions. After a year of isolation, restriction and loss we need ways of reconnecting with each other and where we live.  The celebratory arts are the arts that help us connect: connect with each other, our communities, the natural world and the seasons. They are the arts for and by everyone. An illustrated 30 minute presentation by Tim Hill followed by a space for peoples responses, recollection and ideas.

Tim has played with samba bands around Stonehenge and on the back of trucks at Notting Hill carnival, led giants through the streets of London, created Olympic Torch events, cooked celebratory feasts, written wassail songs, and led funeral services. He has lived and made a noise in Somerset for 16 years.  If you are looking for ways to celebrate in your village or town then we cannot recommend Tim highly enough.
