The Rainbow Fish Speak Easy

For the broken and the brilliant and all their friends

The loveliest spoken word poetry night in Yeovil, starring Liv Torc and Robert Garnham. Open mic slots available on request.

Rainbow Fish Speak Easy is a bi-monthly spoken word poetry night for Yeovil, with open mic slots available for anyone with an original poem to share. The event, which is hosted by Liv Torc, is fun, funny, tender and tremendous, with tips for successfully navigating the human condition in all its luminous, ludicrous and lunatic dimensions.

Along with an open mic, feature slots and a short performance from the Somerset Word/Play group, November's headliner will be Robert Garnham, one of Devon’s finest and funniest spoken word poets. A professor of whimsy, and consumer of biscuits; he is an absurdist with a pink feather boa and a serious social message.

His work deals with LGBT issues and social representation and he has headlined at the top spoken word nights in the UK such as Bang Said the Gun in London, Evidently in Manchester, Hammer and Tongue in both Bristol and Brighton.

He was one of the poets from the Halifax adverts and has performed at the Albert Hall in 2018, the Duplex in New York and the King Kong Klub in Berlin.

Now he is coming to Yeovil to headline the Rainbow Fish Speak Easy.

The Rainbow Fish Speak Easy has been touring this summer, appearing at Buddhafield and WOMAD festivals to huge success. The show comes out of the Somerset Word/Play project. Email livtorc@yahoo.com for an open mic slot
