
The Brewhouse and Take Art have put together a day of workshops and information sessions for performing artists on Thursday 19 Match, entitled Theatre Maker | Monkey Maker.
The day will be made up of three sessions that relate either to fundraising or finance. All sessions are FREE for artists to attend.
Artists are welcome to attend one, two or three of the sessions on offer but places are limited so please ensure you book in advance!

Introduction to Fundraising
10:00-11:30am
Lottie Donovan, experienced fundraising consultant. Former Head of Development at Watershed, Bristol.
This workshop will provide you with a basic overview of the fundraising mix and the tools to build a powerful case for support. Time permitting, participants will also explore the importance of developing ongoing meaningful relationships with your audiences, leading to opportunities to diversify your income streams and build more sustainable financial models for your creative practices.

Project Grant Writing
12:00-1:30pm
Philip Butterworth, Relationship Manager Touring, Arts Council England
This session will begin with a brief introduction to Arts Council England and its funding strands before focusing on Project Grants, how decisions are made and what assessors will look at when making a decision. It will also briefly highlight the differences between making an application for Project Grants and for a grant for Developing Your Creative Practice.

Theatre Tax Relief
2:30-4:00pm
Greg Garner, Head of Finance and Administration, Taunton Theatre Association
Theatre Tax Relief seeks to support Theatrical Production Companies in order to encourage and promote growth in the performing arts. It is offered to both profitable and loss-making production companies and by claiming it a company can reduce pre-performance costs by between 20-25%. Greg will discuss how companies qualify for Theatre Tax Relief and how it is calculated.
