A Summer With Take Art Rural Touring

July 1, 2026

In pub garden or village green, there are Take Art shows to be seen! In a range of unconventional spaces across Somerset this summer, we’ll be hosting more wonderful theatre and circus performances!

From the southernmost South, from Mar del Plata, Argentina, ManoAmano Circus tours to Otterhampton, Shepton Mallet and Minehead with a piece of precision, vertigo and comedy. Using the Chinese Pole, ManoAmano exhibit how acrobatics takes a new shape when it is transferred from the floor that everybody steps on, to the air that everybody dreams of. This couple of tender characters put together simple situations sharing lots naughty sweet humour through powerful language of acrobatics. ManoAmano does not fly, they know they never will, but they keep trying anyhow.

In addition to ManoAmano, we welcome a new show from much-loved Somerset circus company Pirates of the Carabina – On the Shoulders. On the Shoulders is a new outdoor aerial circus production celebrating the women (cis, genderqueer and trans) who have inspired, supported and literally lifted us up. It explores the collective strength of women, community, and intergenerational connection.

Coming to Somerset pubs, Debs Newbold’s wonderful retelling of old myths with a feminist twist. Come and see this Brummie Bard spin amusing, rawkus and rowdy stories and joy in the chaos she brings.
