Take Art’s Cultivate programme and Chard Community Hub are excited to host a free outdoor performance of shed-ache, presented by aKa Dance Theatre. This delightfully silly show, suitable for all ages, will take place on Saturday, 24 May from 11am until midday at Great Mead, Chard.
Blending dance, theatre, and storytelling, shed-ache explores themes of nature, wildlife, and growth—perfectly aligning with Chard’s Great Mead project. Attendees are encouraged to bring a picnic to enjoy after the performance, creating a chance to relax and connect within the community.
“We’re delighted to be welcoming back shed-ache to Chard later this month,” says Mark Helyar, Director of Theatre at Take Art. “It’s a wonderful, fun family show with themes around nature, wildlife, and growing that chime with the Great Mead pilot project. Many families really enjoyed it last year and asked for more – so do come and join us!”
shed-ache is being presented as part of the Great Mead pilot project that focuses on the early stages of transforming a 6.4-acre area in the heart of Chard into a welcoming and vibrant space for all the local community to share and enjoy together. You can find out more about Great Mead here.
The performance of shed-ache is FREE and there’s no need to book. Just come along for an 11am start with something to sit on and a picnic to enjoy afterwards.
