Let's head indoors!

30 September 2022

The nights are getting longer aren’t they?

No matter, we have two months full of shows that will fill our village halls with life and warmth! We’re pleased to be bringing wonderful acts spanning the worlds of music, comedy and theatre to villages all across Somerset.

Whether you like your sides splitting from comedian David Eagle, your eyes watering from the West-Country phenomenon that is Destiny, or your appetite animated by the intimate story of The Syrian Baker, we have an evening of entertainment for you!

As always, showcasing high quality, progressive arts performance is our game and the shows on offer are no exception. I am particularly delighted to see that Silent Faces Theatre (performing with Take Art in November 2022 and January 2023) have been picking up rave reviews from their run of the show Godot is a Woman at the Edinburgh Fringe.

It was the best thing I saw up there; a wonderfully crafted piece of theatre involving snappy scripting, physical clowning, and very amusing little skits. A must-see!

"This is clowning at its best – fooling that has wisdom and something to say at its heart."

Seize the Crown

For those with children hoping to go into the performing arts, we have been sent a performance activity suitable for all young people from our friends at Tangle Theatre.

The project invites individuals, community groups, youth theatres and schools to ‘seize the crown’ by creating their own self-filmed spoken word piece inspired from Shakespeare’s Richard II. For more information on how to participate click here or contact Admin@tangletheatre.co.uk.

Hip-Hip Hurray

Congratulations to Debs Newbold who is a finalist in the esteemed Standing Ovation award for her solo show Lost in Blue that is touring in Somerset with Take Art in March and April 2023. Keep your eyes peeled for this little masterpiece!
