Part Time Freelance/Self Employed Role – £75 per session (£25 per hour)from July 2023.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Dance Artist to work with us on the Our Turn project.
Our Turn is a two-year arts intervention using dance and movement to help the health and happiness of vulnerable adults living with dementia or memory loss.
Using daytime activities to deliver vital emotional and physical support to people living with memory loss and dementia, the project will support the building of relationships in the home and the community, enabling greater social interaction and an improved quality of life.
These weekly sessions lead by specialist dance artists will help:
- Support falls prevention
- Improve physical and mental health and wellbeing
- Reduce loneliness and isolation
- Provide carers with respite
Post Description:
The Assistant Dance Artist will liaise with the Dance Artist to support the planning and delivery of regular weekly sessions for Year 2 of the project. The Assistant Dance Artist will liaise with the lead dance artist and the project lead at Take Art to clarify structure and content of the sessions and to agree any additional resources i.e.equipment and materials, if appropriate.
The Assistant Dance Artist will be responsible for supporting the lead dance artist, volunteers and participants during the sessions and taking registers, collecting any class fees, undertaking evaluation and collating any relevant information to send back to Take Art.
The Assistant Dance Artist will also be responsible for leading the social time activities following the dance session on a weekly basis
Schedule: The Assistant Dance Artist will work with the following groups according to the schedule listed below:
