The Rural Touring Dance Initiative, a three-year project, seeks to address an under-representation of dance in rural areas. A report by Arts Council England in March found just 2% of national portfolio dance companies toured to rural regions in 2012 and 2013.
NRTF have now launched a call out for eight artists or companies to take part in the project between 2015 and 2018, with one full production grant of up to £45,000 and two seed commissions of £5,000 available to develop new dance work.
Four artists /companies will be chosen to tour existing dance shows in autumn 2016/spring 2017, and four will be chosen to develop new shows to tour in autumn 2017/spring 2018
Companies and artists who are interested in applying can visit www.theplace.org.uk/rural-touring to download an application form and FAQs.
The closing date for applications is at 10am on Friday 11 September 2015.
