October and November is PACKED with amazing shows as we provide Somerset with incredible Dance Theatre, Music, Spoken Word and Circus! Take a look at our brochure to see what is near you.
Take Art is leading the way in Circus. We have had a big funding application approved for a 21-month project that will support the Southwest circus sector, providing opportunities for circus artists, and improving practice across Rural Touring schemes and venues in the region. We kick off with a tour of the incredible Anyday by Spanish trampoline artist Max Calaf Seve. He will tour the southwest in March 2024 and Take Art will host much more contemporary circus over the next few years!
We welcome back dynamic Bristol-based Opa Rosa for their Balkan music to get you off your feet.
Female power-trio Scratchworks Theatre bring their new show Hags: A Magical Extravaganza to dazzle and delight us with magic and comedy, all rooted in a dark period of our history.
We host master storyteller Phil Okwedy for one night only in Norton-sub-Hamdon. It’s a must-see this show; he interweaves his personal story with African folk tales to lead the audience to a place where we challenge our views of our parents and conclude that they perhaps weren’t the Gods that we held them to be.
Our dance programme, supported by the RTDI (Rural Touring Dance Initiative, aiming to get high quality dance to rural audiences), returns with Nikki Rummer’s incredible piece Unbroken. It is a personal family story told through movement and storytelling and is a real tour-de-force.
Keep up to date with news via our social media channels to never miss the amazing performances that we bring to your community.
