Jane will be presenting at the highly prestigious ‘Musical Faces of Childhood’ conference on 21 May in Lancashire, where she will be talking about our Early Years Music Network project Soundwaves Extra, which aims to support practitioners in Early Years settings, such as pre-schools, nurseries and children’s centres.
The one-day conference is hosted by Edge Hill University and aims to explore the musical nature of young children’s lives. The conference will discuss the best ways to nurture musicality in young children, so that it becomes a vital part of their future learning.
Using her own MA research, Jane will be examining the challenges practitioners face when delivering music workshops or projects in Early Years settings, encouraging solutions to ensure this valuable work can take root and thrive.
Music Educators and Researchers of Young Children (MERYC) are the organisation behind this conference. Jane Parker is an affiliated member of MERYC.
