We are thrilled to bits to receive news that Somerset Youth Dance Company has been selected by a judging panel to perform at this year's U.Dance South West.

SYDC will perform their piece Dreamstate on Saturday 12 March 2016 at The Edge, University of Bath. This will be the fourth time SYDC has performed at U.Dance South West; they were previously selected and performed in 2012, 2013 and 2014. SYDC has also performed at the National U.Dance event twice, in 2013 and 2014.

U.Dance is a programme led by Youth Dance England, which seeks to increase the number of youth dance performances and support those who organise them. The framework aims to provide dance performance opportunities for every child and young person in England. U.Dance South West celebrates and showcases excellence in youth dance from across the South West of England.

U.Dance South West will be hosted by Bath Dance and ICIA; it is FREE and will involve an exciting day full of workshops and performing to a live audience and panel in the evening. Groups performing at U.Dance South West can choose to be part of a selection process to go to the U.Dance National festival led by Youth Dance England. The regional panel will select two groups to go forward to this three-day youth dance festival hosted at The Lowry, Salford, in July .
