As part of Spring Forward’s 10 year Anniversary Take Art will be hosting this year's Regional Youth Dance Platform; U.Dance South West 2014.

Somerset Film and Video have put together four short documentary films taken from Word/Play: The Thing Is... Each documentary focuses on a different group of participants and their adventures in spoken word. You can watch the films here!

InspirED’s Primary School platform was a creative afternoon of dance, music and song and included children from Preston Primary School, West Chinnock and Countess Gytha School.

After the success of inspirED’s secondary school Drama Festival which took place on 26th June at The Merlin Theatre, Frome we are now looking forward to scheduling the 2014 Drama Festival for inspirED subscribing schools!

InspirED is a new consortium of local organisations bringing the skills and expertise of arts and media professionals direct to schools, colleges and children’s centres across Somerset.

The Octagon Theatre invites dance companies to apply for the newly created Octagon Dance Associate bursary. The £5,000 bursary is in partnership with Take Art Dance, Somerset County’s dance development agency.

Take Art has released its new Jan-June 2013 programme, featuring over 50 performances, workshops and events across Somerset, along with four exciting new projects. See inside here...

In 2013 the Life Circles project offers three more dance with older people training days in Devon, Dorset and Somerset, for dance artists and activity co-ordinators in care homes and day-care centres.

A two-year theatre and spoken word project for Somerset entitled Word/Play, has been given the green light thanks to £75,000 support from the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation, one of the largest independent grant making foundations in England, and a further £17,000 from the Lloyds TSB Foundation for England and Wales.

Do you want to gain the vital skills to help forge a successful career in the arts? From January 2013 Take Art are running skills development days for both experienced and emerging artists and anyone in need of a bit of direction and professional advice.
