After the lockdowns and restrictions of the past two years it's finally exciting to think about summer again. As the weather warms we can't help but look forward to outdoor events, delicious picnics, sizzling barbecues and of course, good company.
This summer Take Art Rural Touring is focusing on all things local. Locally based theatre companies like Wassail theatre, Bluebirds theatre, and Calf 2 Cow theatre are bringing their family friendly shows to many outdoor locations across the county in June and July. These alfresco shows are held in safe and accessible settings, making them ideal for the whole family.
Take Art Rural Touring kicks off its summer programme with Wassail theatre’s production of Whispering Willows, and continues through the months of June and July showcasing wonderful talent for Somerset audiences. We continue bringing high quality performances to local communities at affordable rates, making extraordinary moments happen in ordinary places.

Reflections
In May we welcomed Polish company Arts Fraction and their amazing early years (ages 0-2) show, KUUKI. They came to the UK for a run of five dates, three of which were in Somerset. They visited a range of community and early years settings, delighting young audiences in Castle Cary, Stoke St. Gregory and Bridgwater.
Take Art partnered with presenters across Europe to spread the rural touring model in practice with two companies spanning different performance genres. Take Art is committed to working with international companies and venues to ensure that we can bring a wide range of acts and artists to our local audiences.
Touring KUUKI was a great experience, working with like-minded people across the continent. Find out more about this project here.
A special opportunity to see WÖR back in Somerset
WÖR toured with the RT scheme earlier in the year to huge audiences and to great success. They're back in North Curry for a one-off Somerset performance not to be missed!
