Take Art's Director of Dance, Katey Leader, has been included in Youth Dance England's U.Dance Roll of Honour 2014 as a U.Dance Champion. This accolade was awarded to Katey in recognition of having hosted no less than eight U.Dance platforms across Somerset as part of Spring Forward Festival earlier this year.

Katey said, "U.Dance is such a fantastic opportunity for young people to perform on a professional stage and to get inspiration from each other by watching other groups. The difference I see in dancers after the experience of a U.Dance platform is a transformation. It's when the hard work and hours spent sweating in the dance studio pays off... where the dancers in them come alive and where they thrive. It is a pleasure to be involved in."

Katey heads up Somerset Youth Dance Company, who were recently selected by a professional panel at the U.Dance regional platform in March to go through to the national summit this coming June in Nottingham. Read more about SYDC's success here.
