Touring Matters: dance conference

30 May 2014

On Saturday 5 July, Take Art, The Point and DanSCe Dialogues 2 present a conference for artists, venues and promoters to explore the current issues around touring new dance work – from local to global, rural to urban.

Touring Matters, hosted at The Point in Eastleigh, will investigate past and new models for commissioning, presenting and touring dance work, in a day of conversation, exploration and debate around artists, venue programmers and audiences. This conference forms part of the two-year Anglo-French project DanSCe Dialogues 2, of which Take Art is one of eight partners from both sides of the Channel.

Hear industry leaders and keynote speakers talk about new touring models; see excerpts of work by The Point’s Associate Artists, and engage in tailored breakout discussion groups, followed by a Q&A panel discussion around new models of thinking for making new work and touring. The day will be chaired by Donald Hutera, world-renowned writer and dance critic for The Times - and writer in residence for DanSCe Dialogues 2.
